French Breakfast Aims for the Heights - 2nd December 2009

Pupils at Jordanstown Schools have adopted Mountain Rescue as the school charity for this year. This charity was chosen by the pupils following the tragic death of a former teacher and his brother in an avalanche in Scotland.

The latest fund raising event, organised by the school’s Pupil Council, was a French Breakfast for pupils, staff and invited guests including Rev J C Irvine, the Chair of the Board of Governors and Brian Symington, Director of RNID Northern Ireland.

The members of the Pupil Council took the customers’ orders and served a gastronomic delight of typical continental fare including, of course, croissants and coffee. They were also responsible for ‘cleaning up’ after the event!

The Pupil Council would like to say a special thank you to the manager of the new Sainsbury’s store in Carrickfergus for the kind donation of croissants.
