SIGNtific Events - 20th April 2010

The Science Museum, London have recently started a new programme of Deaf Led family events called SIGNtific. These are shows, storytelling and workshops led by a Deaf presenter useing BSL accompanied by a voice over interpreter. Visit to Stormont - 22nd March 2010

Pupils in 5L and 4L who study Citizenship went on a very interesting and useful visit to the Northern Ireland Assembly building at Stormont on Tuesday 16th March. Healthy Day In - 10th March 2010

As part of the Health4Life project in Jordanstown Schools visitors from the Health Promotion Agency, Colin Glen Trust and chefs from Ryan’s Restaurant treated parents, staff and invited guests to a ‘Healthy Day In’. Throughout the day pupils and parents participated in a range of interactive workshops.

Rotary Young Chef Competition 2010 - 3rd March 2010

Jordanstown Schools pupil Joel Donnan was one of only 8 budding young chefs to be selected for the all Ireland finals of this year’s prestigious Rotary Club Young Chef Competition.

XL Club Events - 5th January 2010

The Prince’s Trust XL Club (pupils from 6I and 6M) completed two of their projects by making and selling Xmas crackers (enterprise) and organising a Christmas party for the secondary pupils (personal, interpersonal and social skills). Rebecca wins Gold - 9th December 2009

Rebecca McAllister from Class 2 at Jordanstown Schools was a star at the Disability NI Games held at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex on Saturday the 28th November this year.

Rebecca claimed first place for the Back Stroke in her age group at the games.

All the staff and pupils at Jordanstown Schools are really proud of her achievement.

French Breakfast Aims for the Heights - 2nd December 2009

Pupils at Jordanstown Schools have adopted Mountain Rescue as the school charity for this year. This charity was chosen by the pupils following the tragic death of a former teacher and his brother in an avalanche in Scotland.

Keilder Challenge Success - 2nd October 2009

Peter Donoghue has won the Active Kids Get Cooking Special Challenge 2009.
